Zachary Woods
In Memoriam
Zach Woods was one of the NYCRC’s original team members. Following intensive study of Chinese culture and language at Middlebury College, Zach worked for the Western Water Group in Fujian, China where he helped provide waste water treatment options to rural Chinese villagers. Zach later joined the NYCRC where his superior language skills and energetic spirit helped thousands of Chinese families on their path toward permanent residency in the United States.
To honor and perpetuate Zach’s memory, his friends and colleagues at the NYCRC have established The Zachary Woods Memorial Fund at Selfhelp Community Services, a leading provider of services to the Asian community in New York City. Selfhelp serves 5,000 Asian immigrants each year, the majority of whom are low income senior citizens who have emigrated from China. The Zachary Woods Memorial Fund will help provide health and human services for thousands of Chinese immigrants served by Selfhelp in New York City. It will also serve as a living tribute to a remarkable person who cared deeply for others. May Zach’s memory be a blessing.
