NEW YORK, NY – February 6, 2020 – The New York City Regional Center (“NYCRC”) is pleased to announce that the first I-829 petition has been filed in the George Washington Bridge Bus Station and Infrastructure Project (Phase II) (“EB-5 Project”). I-829 petitions have now been filed in 17 NYCRC offerings. To date, 1,675 I-829 petition approvals have been issued in NYCRC offerings resulting in 4,876 individuals (EB-5 investors and family members) achieving permanent residency in the United States.
The EB-5 Project included the second phase of construction work related to the redevelopment of the George Washington Bridge Bus Station as well infrastructure work to allow for the expansion, improved efficiency, and continued use of this important New York City transportation facility. The EB-5 Project involved facilities owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the nation’s largest bi-state authority.
Construction of the EB-5 Project is complete and the I-829 petition submission reflects that 596 jobs were created from construction.
I-829 petitions were previously filed for EB-5 investors investing in the first phase of redevelopment of the George Washington Bridge Bus Station. To date, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued 136 I-829 petition approvals for these EB-5 investors.
