Mary King, Chief Operating Officer
Mary King is Chief Operating Officer of the NYCRC. Prior to joining NYCRC, Ms. King spent more than ten years in the financial securities industry managing compliance and operations for investment managers. Until 2010, Ms. King was Chief Operating Officer at Links Capital Management, LLC, where she was part of the launch team and established all compliance and operating systems. Prior to that, she was Director of Operations and Chief Compliance Officer at Xmark Opportunity Partners, LLC. In this role, Ms. King had responsibility for all aspects of securities compliance, investor relations, fund administration, and trading operations. From 2002 through 2006 Ms. King was Director of Operations and Chief Compliance Officer at Somerset Capital Advisers, LLC, a registered investment adviser. Here she also managed all compliance as well as back and mid-office processes, including ensuring accurate reporting for the firm’s funds. During her tenure at Somerset the firm launched two funds and doubled assets under management.
From 1999 to 2002 Ms. King was an Account Manager at J. Robert Scott, an Executive Search firm owned by Fidelity Investments. Prior to that, she spent ten years as a cosmetics Sales Executive, first as an Account Executive and Territory Manager for the Elizabeth Arden division of Unilever and later with the Giorgio Beverly Hills business unit of Procter and Gamble.
In 2009 Ms. King co-directed the launch of a financial literacy program for High Water Women. Currently, she serves on the Public Policy Committee of IIUSA, the EB-5 Regional Center industry trade association, and as Vice Chair of the 100 Women in Hedge Fund’s Philanthropy Committee. Ms. King has a BS in Finance from Boston College and an MBA, magna cum laude, from Babson College. Ms. King lives in New York City.
