Overview
New York City is the most populous city in the United States with over 8.2 million people. In fact, if the four boroughs that make up the NYCRC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx) were each independent cities, they would each be among the ten most populous cities in the United States.
New York City is known for the great diversity of its people. Currently, approximately 170 languages are spoken in the city and 36% of its population is foreign-born.

New York City is a global hub of international business, commerce, real estate, culture, entertainment, and education. The city is also an important center for international affairs, hosting the United Nations headquarters.
